The sun beat down on the lone sunbather. Her sun tan cream and sweat formed some kind of protection against the sun. The cool water of the sea called out to her, time and time again. She wanted to feel its caress on her naked skin, to swim in its glory. She wanted to feel every part of her body touched. She wanted to feel at one with nature, and with her self.
The towel on the beach and her book were put away. She always had this beach at this time to herself. She knew it would be hours till anybody disturbed her. Only Mad Dogs and Englishmen went out in the mid day sun, after all. She got up, the sun beating down on her perspiring body, she ran into the sea, her sand covered torso and legs instantly being cleaned.
She swam around for maybe half an hour, the time seemed to evaporate the longer she stayed in. She wanted to stay there forever, but she realised that like a lover’s embrace, she had to break it soon. She swam to the shore, the hot sun still beating down on her. She went back to her towel, and slowly, gently, dried herself of. She didn’t see the lone figure approach her, until she saw his shadow, cast against her face, and across her torso. (more…)
